1.4 Activate Components

For this tutorial's purpose, you don't need to install the Overcast Components package. All of the components used in the tutorial are available as part of the core Overcast App.

When do I need to install an additional Overcast package?

You will need an additional package installation if you want to:

  1. Try out the other Components that currently instruct you to "Contact Us"
  2. Build your own Components utilizing the Overcast Component Builder
  3. Create a custom real-time scenario that runs from your own Apex code

Please contact Vigience for further details or select "Contact Us" on the component that you wish to use.

See instructions on how to Install the additional Overcast Components package here.

Activate the Components

  1. Use the App Launcher () to navigate to the Overcast App, and select the Component Library tab. Under Status, filter by selecting Available to see components that are available.

  1. Search for SAP Sales Order History component and activate it by selecting the blue Activate button (Once activated, the panel will appear green).

  1. Choose the connection string for your Backend System. Select Activate.

  1. A green success banner should appear. Navigate to the Monitoring tab and view Status column. A green circle with a check indicates that activation is complete.

Add Components to Page Layout

  1. Go to Account record page. Navigate to Setup and select Edit Page to open Lightning Application Builder.

  1. On the right side of the screen, select Add Tab. We are going to create an extra Tab to display Overcast Components.

  1. Select Custom for Tab Label, and rename from “Details” to the label of your choice. Select Done.

  1. From Left pane, drag and drop the SAP Sales Orders Widget component onto the page. On the right pane. Click Save and then Activate.

Note: If you do not see your component in the list, choose the Overcast Component Viewer (1), drag it onto the layout, and select the component from the list (2). Select Save (3).

Viewing Data in the Widget

Make sure to enter SAP customer number in Account Number. Overcast components for the Account object use this field to identify which specific Account's data to pull from the SAP backend. If this field is not populated with the correct SAP customer number, the components will appear blank.

Adjusting Data in the Widget

Once your data is visible in the widget, you have the ability to adjust data filters.

Navigate to your Accounts tab in Salesforce, and select an Account Record from your list. You will then see the widgets displayed in full on the page layout.

With SAP Sales Order History, SAP Invoice History and SAP Delivery History components, you can see all records by selecting View All at the bottom of each widget. To drill down further, select the hyperlinked record within the widget to navigate to the details of that particular record.

With SAP Sales Overview component, select the Funnel in the right corner of the widget to adjust the data currently displayed. Select Update after those changes are made.

You can drill down into the detail view by clicking directly on the visual of that record in the widget.
