Set Network Proxy

This page describes how to set the network proxy settings so the Secure Agent can connect to the Internet through a proxy server.

By default, Secure Agent runs as a Windows Service as the Local System user. The Windows proxy settings chosen in Internet Options are not utilized by this user, so you need to reconfigure the service.

1. Change the logon user for Secure Agent Window Service to a local user.

1. Open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
2. Open Overcast Enterprise Gateway Secure Agent.
3. Select Log On tab.
4. Select this account option.
5. Add an administrator account and password.
6. Select Save.

If the proxy requires authentication, you need to continue below so Secure Agent can get credentials for the proxy.

2. Save proxy credentials to Windows.

1. Open Control Panel -> Credential Mananger
2. Select Windows Credentials.
3. Select Add Windows credential.
4. Enter the proxy hostname or IP address, username and password.
5. Select Save.

3. Restart service

Alternatively, you can put an exception in your proxy for the Secure Agent machine. Consult with your network administrator.
